2009 BMW Z4 sDrive35i Photo Shoot

These days, just about every european car manufacture has made a roadster of some kind. BMW in particular has had quite a bit of experience at this, with their very successful Z3 and Z4 roadsters. Fuelled by the success of the previous models I am sure, BMW has made a new one.

BMW has done a fabulous job on the all new Z4 Roadster, with it's clean body lines and powerful engine choices, not to mention its extremely comfortable and fun to drive.

Special thanks to: Piers Scott and Cora Jungmann from BMW for the usage of the car, and everyone else that helped with the shoot.

NOS Energy NZ Drift Series Round 3

Well, Taupo Motorsport Park was lucky enough to host round 3 of the NZ Drift Series. Taupo has always been known to be a little boring due to the simple left then right turns of the judged section, and just having to tuck in on the apex of the corners. Nick Teeboon, who is now judging came up with an idea of placing cones around the outside of the last corner to give a wall effect, which the drivers had to be as close as possible too. The changes made the track much more interesting with everyone trying to ride the wall the whole way around. Most of the guys like the new set up and really enjoyed the day. In the end, Mad Mike Whiddett took the win, in his turbo RX-8 with Carl Ruiterman taking 2nd and Cole Armstrong walking away with 3rd. As the series points heat up, you won't want to miss round 4 at Pukehohe Park Raceway on October 17th, see you there!

Northern Sports Car Club Drag Day

People say that driving in a straight line is rather boring... Which is true, it can be. But that wasnt the case down at Meremere last Sunday when Adam Carpenter and the Northern Sports Car Club hired out the drag strip. With the vast variety of cars, things were set to be a little interesting. The first half of the day was for qualifying which nearly saw a 1968 Mustang nearly end up in the wall. From there it when into a DYO elimination round. Then to finish things, the guys at Fram Autoline Dragway opened up the track with an offical timing system for those wanting to see what there cars could really do. Everyone walked away with a smile and their cars still in one piece, bring on the next one!
